Chantelle Bellrichard - journalist, researcher, writer
Chantelle and I would sit next to each other in class at UBC, Vancouver, Canada. We became friends sharing an interest for public policy, and finding out the reason behind stories. Curious, hard-working, and engaged, Chantelle pursued her path becoming a journalist speciliazing in Indigenous issues in Canada, including Indigenous women and their position in today's Canadian society. Chantelle's articles are profoundly human, engaged, and thoroughly researched. I highly suggest the one on Manitoba's First Nation midwife culture and tradition, and her investigation of unresolved missing and murder cases of Indigenous women in British Colombia.
