Can you tell me about one time you took a chance but failed, and what did you learn from it?
Well, after 2 ½ years, we decided to close down the company. We didn’t work well as co-founders. It was very painful at the time, I ended up quite alone. When I had the company, everyone was very nice to me, once it was over, there wasn’t anyone around anymore, no one to help you.
It took me a few years to process the whole thing. I took many jobs (high school teacher, freelance, etc.), and I ended up taking a job in Bordeaux, working for a startup. Over the years since I closed the company, people kept complimenting me when I told them about the company. They were very impressed and helped me shine a new light on that experience. I didn’t think there was anything to be proud of and people helped me to prove myself wrong. Failure isn’t about the outcome, I learned that you have to be kind to yourself when you fail.
